How to Set a Custom Cover Image on TikTok

1. After recording or uploading your video, on the Post screen, tap "Cover" (the thumbnail preview at the top).
2. You'll see a horizontal scrubber showing all frames of your video. Drag to select the best frame as your cover.
3. On newer versions of the TikTok app, you may also see an option to "Upload image" to use a custom-designed cover instead of a video frame.
4. Tap the checkmark to confirm and continue posting.

To change the cover after posting, go to your video, tap the three-dot menu (···), select "Edit", and then tap the cover thumbnail to update it.
